Yoga Gives Back launched Sister Aid program with NISHTHA in 2010 to provide small micro credit to women in rural villages. Starting with 55 women, it continued to grow and support 550 women today. Among them was the artisan group women whose kantha stitch and arti facts truly impressed YGB team every time they visited NISHTHA. YGB’s global community’s support has increased and it also stared SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education) that offers 5-year scholarship for higher education for girls to achieve college degrees. Since the pandemic, YGB also added “digital literary program” to this education program so girls can learn computer skills for better job opportunities as well as helping communities at large with online access and skills. It was a group of girls from SHE scholarship who came up with the idea of creating E commerce/Online business platform for their Artisan mothers and women members as their crafts are so beautiful that they felt confident to make a good business if they are sold online.
It is with this team efforts since 2010 that finally gave birth or Manvee Creation on the international Women’s Day, March 8, 2024.
